On May 13, 2021,  the feast of our Lady of Fatima, two Postulants: Junas S. Malana from Kananga, Leyte, and Vince Mahinay from Maragusan, Davao De Oro were admitted to the Novitiate of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ).

The ceremony of acceptance took place during the Mass at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon in Lower Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur Province.

The candidates were called by their Postulants’ Master and the first Councillor Fr. Patrick Gutib, SCJ who handed them over to the Novice Master, Fr. Indra Pamungkas, SCJ who presided the Mass and accepted them in the name of the Regional Superior Fr. Lukas Hadi Siswo Sasmito, SCJ.

In his homily Fr. Indra presented the pace of  Novitiate in four steps:

•     First, recognize the divine vocation and deepen it.
•     Second, experience our religious life, the way of life of our Congregation.
•     Third, to be formed in mind and heart in the Congregation Spirituality.
•     Finally, to be tested in their motivation, if they are suitable to profess their religious vows in the Congregation.

After the Mass, all guests were invited to join a special shared dinner.
