The Second Fiesta Celebration on Enhanced Community Quarantine

On August 15, 2021, the San Roque Parish of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City celebrates her 10th Parochial Fiesta. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Elpidio Luza, Jr., SCJ, the Parish Priest, early on this day.

Due to the health regulations, it was only physically attended by not more than ten people including the assigned priests themselves. Thus, they went live streaming on a social media platform.

The fellowship was uniquely shared with the community through the distribution of 500 food packs. It was done by the initiative of the Parish and of the people with generous hearts. The primary recipients are those in most need identified by the BEC leaders of each community.

Like the other year, the early preparation for this milestone as a community became a challenge when the sudden announcement of the ECQ happened. All of the physical church activities were canceled including the public celebration of the sacraments. However, in these trying times, the Lord always finds His best ways to keep His people. The Church never leaves them so the people cling more to their faith.
