March 19 marks the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, guardian and protector of the Holy Family, and the Patron Saint of KDFI (Kasanag Daughters Foundation Inc.).
Every year on this day, the foundation holds a special celebration, which starts with the Holy Eucharist and ends with a common meal and a program prepared by the daughters. As usual, the celebration is attended by beneficiaries of the foundation, staff, board members, former daughters, benefactors, SCJ priests, and friends. The purpose of this is to honor their patron and thank him for his protection and guidance.
This year the celebration started with the Holy Eucharist at 5:45PM officiated by Rev. Fr. Franciszek Pupkowski, SCJ, assisted by Rev. Fr. Ronald M. Basco, SCJ, formator of aspirants at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Cagayan de Oro City.
In his homily, delivered in the Cebuano dialect, Fr. Francis presented the person of St. Joseph as a true model of faith and trust in God.
The Holy Eucharist was followed by a floral offering to St. Joseph and a common supper.
