The Kasanag Daughters Foundation, Inc. (KDFI) was recently awarded as one of the five Outstanding Social Work Agencies (SWAs) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the first-ever annual search for outstanding SWAs and Auxiliary Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWADAs). The awarding ceremony took place on December 6th at SM City Novaliches in Quezon City.
KDFI, alongside four other outstanding SWAs, received a plaque and a cash incentive of Php50,000. This recognition serves as a testament to the foundation’s dedication to empowering marginalized individuals and communities, particularly women and children, through its various social welfare programs and services.

The annual search also intends to inspire more agencies to join the fight for social impact, good governance, and sustainability. By recognizing the outstanding achievements of the KDFI and other awardees, the DSWD hopes to motivate others to follow their lead and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The KDFI’s commitment to social welfare is evident in their long history of service. Registered with the DSWD, they uphold the highest standards and strive to meet the needs of their clients. Their staff, composed of dedicated professionals such as house-mothers, psychologists, social workers, and project managers, work tirelessly to provide support and services to those in need.
This recent recognition serves as a well-deserved tribute to the KDFI’s unwavering dedication and impactful work. Their commitment to excellence sets a shining example for other organizations, inspiring them to join the fight for a better future for all.

For the record, the institution was founded in 1999 by Fr. Eduardo Aguero, SCJ, and has since helped over 200 girls. As of now, the foundation is being managed by Fr. Ronald Basco, SCJ.
