Christ is Risen! Alleluia!
In this year of grace, the Jubilee Year 2025, the Church joyfully proclaims to all the world the message of hope—firm, enduring, and radiant—flowing from the empty tomb of the Risen Lord. Our theme, “Pilgrims of Hope”, reminds us that we do not walk alone. Christ walks with us. He is our beginning and our destination, the light that never fades, and the companion who strengthens every step of our journey.
At a time when many still carry burdens of war, poverty, loneliness, and disillusionment, Easter breaks forth as the dawn of a new creation. It invites us to rise with Christ and to become bearers of His peace, His mercy, and His joy.
This year also brings us a special occasion for thanksgiving and reflection: the 100th death anniversary of the Servant of God, Fr. Leo John Dehon (August 12, 2025). As founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, Fr. Dehon taught us to live with hearts open to God’s love, and with feet ready to go wherever love demands. His vision of reparation, social justice, and Eucharistic service echoes deeply with our Jubilee theme. He too was a pilgrim of hope, urging us to make our lives an offering of love in a wounded world.
Dear friends, let us walk this Easter season—and this Jubilee Year—with the courage and joy of true pilgrims. Let us open our hearts to the Spirit, allow the Risen Christ to heal our fears, and commit ourselves anew to building a world of compassion and peace. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, may we recognize Him in the breaking of the bread, and rush to tell others that “the Lord has truly risen!”
With the blessing of the Risen Lord,
and under the gaze of the Pierced Heart of Jesus,
I greet you all with the joy and peace of Easter.
Happy Easter!
Let us remain pilgrims of hope together.
