Prayer Before the Elections in the Philippines

Heavenly Father, Lord of history and the source of all authority,
We come before You in this time of national discernment,
as our country prepares to choose new leaders to serve the Filipino people.

We thank You for the gift of democracy,
for the freedom to vote, and for the right to participate in shaping our future.
May we use this freedom with wisdom, guided not by personal gain or empty promises,
but by truth, justice, and love for the common good.

Lord Jesus, You came not to be served but to serve.
Inspire all candidates to seek public office not for power, but for service.
Cleanse our politics of corruption, violence, dishonesty, and selfish ambition.
May those who lead us be men and women of integrity, compassion, and moral courage.

Holy Spirit, light of our hearts,
Enlighten our minds as we cast our votes.
Help us to choose leaders who will uphold the dignity of every person,
protect the poor, defend the truth, and promote peace and unity.

Grant us the grace to vote with a clear conscience,
to reject apathy and fear, and to resist any temptation to sell our vote
or be swayed by falsehood and manipulation.

Bless our beloved Philippines, O God.
May this election be peaceful, honest, and credible.
May we emerge from it more united as one people under You—
working together for a more just, compassionate, and hopeful nation.

We entrust our nation to the loving care of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage,
and to the intercession of our saints and martyrs
who gave their lives for truth and justice.

All this we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
