Welcoming New Members to the Postulancy and Aspirancy Programs

We are delighted to announce the admission of Fr. Randy Arca, to our Postulancy program and three aspiring hearts to the Aspirancy!

Rhamir, Virgel, and Sam, each carrying unique paths from Pagadian, Claveria, and Cagayan de Oro, were presented by Fr. Patrick Gutib, SCJ, and warmly welcomed by Fr. Lukas Sasmito, SCJ during a joyous, anticipation-filled Holy Eucharist.

In his stirring homily, Fr. Sasmito unveiled the profound meaning of Postulancy and Aspirancy. These programs, like stepping stones, guide candidates towards a deeper understanding of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart and their own sacred calling.

Fr. Randy, a seasoned priest ordained in 2020, served in Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. While his path led him to the priesthood, his heart yearned for a life devoted to a religious community. Through encounters with Vietnamese brothers and Fr. Candido Bayron, SCJ, he discovered our mission and values, resonating deeply within him.

A timely social media post sparked a decision, leading Fr. Randy to apply to our congregation. For almost a year he served at St. Isidore Parish in Dumalinao, experiencing our community firsthand. Today, on February 5th, 2024, he officially joins the three Postulants, embarking on a journey alongside the three new Aspirants.

Their dedication and unwavering commitment to serving God and the Church shine brightly. We eagerly witness their spiritual growth, hoping they’ll begin their Novitiate this coming May 2024.

With open arms and grateful hearts, we welcome Fr. Randy and the aspiring trio. Their decision marks a pivotal moment in their spiritual journeys, and we are humbled to be part of it. May God’s blessings and guidance illuminate their path as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
