On October 15-16, 2024, the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ) in the Philippines convened their Regional Meeting in Cagayan de Oro City. This gathering served as a significant opportunity for SCJ members to engage in meaningful discussions about their mission and to celebrate a key moment in the life of one of their brothers.
The meeting’s first day featured a presentation by Engr. Antonio Sevilliano on “Project Management of Building Projects.” His presentation offered valuable insights into effective project management, focusing on strategic planning, resource allocation, and the importance of clear communication to ensure the successful execution of projects. Following this session, the participants engaged in a time of personal sharing, reflecting on their experiences, challenges, and achievements in their ministries and communities.
On October 16, the group addressed the regular agenda of the Regional Meeting. Discussions centered on ongoing projects, community concerns, and strategies for future growth and development within the region. This collaborative exchange of ideas and experiences highlighted the dedication of the SCJs to their mission of spreading the love of the Sacred Heart through various pastoral and social initiatives.
A momentous occasion crowned the second day’s events when Bro. Agustin M. Indangan Jr., SCJ, made his final profession of vows—chastity, poverty, and obedience—during a solemn ceremony at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Cagayan de Oro City. Bro. Agustin’s commitment to these vows, accepted by the Regional Superior, Fr. Niño Etulle, SCJ, reflects his deep faith and dedication to his religious calling. His decision to embrace this life of consecration serves as a powerful reminder of the profound commitment required to follow Christ in the spirit of the Priests of the Sacred Heart.
After the ceremony, the community came together for a celebratory supper at the Sacred Heart Formation House. The evening was filled with joy, gratitude, and a sense of fellowship as the SCJ family honored Bro. Agustin’s final vows. His journey of faith and dedication continues to inspire not only the SCJ community but all who witness his unwavering commitment to a life of service.
The SCJ Regional Meeting in Cagayan de Oro City proved to be much more than a gathering of religious leaders; it was a celebration of faith, dedication, and the power of community. The final vows of Bro. Agustin M. Indangan Jr. serve as a lasting reminder of the call to live a life of love, humility, and devoted service in the name of the Sacred Heart.
