Celebration of the 182nd Birth Anniv. of Fr. Leo John Dehon in SCJ Luzon Area

On March 13, the SCJ Luzon Area gathered to commemorate the 182nd birth anniversary of Fr. Leo John Dehon, the founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ). While his actual birth anniversary falls on March 14, this celebration served as an anticipation of the special day. The event was held at the Dehon House Community and coincided with the Area Meeting, bringing together priests, scholastics, and guest priests.

The event was graced by the presence of the Regional Superior, Fr. Niño Etulle, SCJ, who presided over the Eucharistic Celebration, adding spiritual depth and significance to the occasion. The gathering served a dual purpose: addressing important matters concerning the congregation while fostering fraternal bonding, spiritual renewal, and a reaffirmation of the Dehonian charism.

The celebration honored the enduring legacy of Fr. Dehon, whose vision of love and reparation continues to inspire the SCJ community. Through prayer, reflection, and dialogue, participants were encouraged to deepen their commitment to their mission of serving God and His people. This event not only celebrated the life and teachings of Fr. Dehon but also strengthened the unity and purpose of the SCJ Luzon Area in carrying forward his transformative vision.

This milestone serves as a reminder of the SCJ community’s dedication to living out Fr. Dehon’s ideals in their ministry and daily lives.
