Installation of Rev. Fr. Donald S. Longno, SCJ, as New Parish Priest of Parokya ng Banal na Krus, Tanay

Tanay, Rizal — On July 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the faithful of Parokya ng Banal na Krus gathered to witness the installation of their new parish priest, Rev. Fr. Donald S. Longno, SCJ. The special celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Ruperto C. Santos, DD, Bishop of Antipolo.

The event marked the beginning of a new chapter in the life of the parish community. In his homily, Bishop Ruperto spoke about the vocation of a parish priest as a spiritual father. He emphasized that the priest is called to lead with faith, guide with wisdom, and nurture the people with love and devotion. For example, he explained that a priest, like a father, must listen to his people, pray for them, and accompany them in their joys and sorrows.

The installation Mass was attended by diocesan clergy and religious priests, with a special presence of priests from the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ), the congregation to which Fr. Donald belongs. Their presence showed the spirit of unity and fraternity in the Church.

The parishioners warmly welcomed their new shepherd with prayers and joyful hearts. It was a meaningful moment of hope and renewal for the community. As Fr. Donald begins his ministry in Tanay, the parish looks forward to growing together in faith, service, and love of God.

Let us all pray for Fr. Donald Longno, SCJ, that the Lord may bless his ministry, grant him wisdom and strength, and make him an instrument of Christ’s love for the people of Parokya ng Banal na Krus.
