The Gospel today reminds us: be ready at all times for the Lord’s coming. This is not just about the end of our lives—it’s about His daily coming to us in people, events, and even interruptions.
Every moment is sacred. Like Moses before the burning bush, we are always standing on holy ground. But to see it, we must be awake, with lamps lit. The danger is falling into spiritual sleep—living distracted, busy, and unaware of God’s presence.
Abraham shows us what faith looks like: always moving forward, trusting God’s promises. The Kingdom of God is not only our future home; it is coming toward us now. When we open the door, we find a surprising truth: the Master serves us—as Jesus did when He washed His disciples’ feet, and as He does in every Eucharist.
Let us live ready to welcome Him at any hour, and to share His love in the world. The darker the night, the brighter our lamps must shine.
