On November 22, 2025, Dehon House in Quezon City marked its annual Benefactors’ Day, a cherished occasion dedicated to thanking the many individuals who support the mission of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ). The gathering was filled with prayer, gratitude, and a renewed sense of shared purpose. The celebration began with a concelebrated Mass at 5:00 PM, presided by Fr. Patrick Gutib, SCJ. He replaced Fr. Francis Pupkowski, SCJ, who for personal reasons could not be present this year. His absence was warmly acknowledged, and the community remembered him in prayer.
This year’s Benefactors’ Day carried a special resonance, as the SCJ community is still experiencing the grace of the centennial celebration of the death of Fr. Leo John Dehon, held last August 12, 2025. The memory of the Founder, his vision, and his deep love for the Heart of Jesus continue to inspire the Congregation’s mission. His motto, Adveniat Regnum Tuum—“Thy Kingdom Come”—remains a guiding light for all who collaborate in the work of building a more compassionate and just society.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, benefactors, SCJ members, and friends gathered for a simple fellowship meal. The gathering offered space for warm conversations, expressions of gratitude, and updates on various SCJ ministries. A short video presentation on the life of Fr. Dehon allowed participants to reflect once more on his enduring legacy and the spiritual foundations of the Congregation.
Benefactors’ Day 2025 was a moment to honor generosity, celebrate partnership, and renew the commitment to continue serving in the spirit of the Sacred Heart. With deep appreciation, the SCJ community looks forward to journeying together with benefactors and friends in the mission entrusted to them by Fr. Dehon.
