It is easy to say, “Yes, Lord,” “Yes, I will change,” or “Yes, I understand.” But Jesus reminds us that a real yes is not proved by words—it is proved by our actions.

In today’s Gospel, one son says “No” but later goes and works in his father’s vineyard. The other says “Yes, sir,” but never goes.

Jesus asks: “Which of the two did his father’s will?”

The answer is clear: the one who acted.

God does not ask us to be perfect. He asks us to be willing to change, to begin again, and to put His will into practice.

St. Paul points us to Christ, who did not merely say yes to the Father—He lived His yes. He humbled Himself, served, suffered, and gave His life.

Their witness reminds us that a “yes” to Christ is not merely something we say—it is something we are called to live faithfully, even when that yes becomes difficult and costly.

So ask yourself:

Where am I saying “yes” with my lips but “no” with my life?

✝️ Renew your yes to God each day.

Do not merely say yes. Live your yes.

“Lord, I am here. I want to do your will. Give me the humility to change, the courage to obey, and the love to remain faithful.”

Yes, Lord. Here I am. Send me.
