Sacred Heart Formation House, Cagayan de Oro City, 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time

God has entrusted each of us with a vineyard—our life, faith, family, vocation, time, talents, resources, and opportunities to serve. We are not owners but stewards, and God looks for fruit from what He has entrusted to us.

The fruit God wants is not merely religious activity or words, but love, justice, mercy, forgiveness, generosity, and righteousness. Our faith must become visible in the way we live and treat others.

The rejected Son is Jesus. Although humanity rejected and killed Him, God made Him the cornerstone. This shows that the Cross was not the failure of God’s love but the revelation of how far God’s love is willing to go. Likewise, our failures do not mean that God is finished with us.

St. Paul gives the practical response: “Have no anxiety at all.” We can bring our worries, failures, fears, and needs to God because the vineyard belongs to Him.

Three questions for us

  1. What has God entrusted to me?
  2. What kind of fruit am I producing?
  3. What am I afraid to place into God’s hands?

This week’s challenge

  • Give thanks for one gift.
  • Do one concrete act of love or mercy.
  • Take one step toward forgiveness.
  • Place one anxiety into God’s hands.

And ask:

“If God came looking for the harvest of my life today, what would He find?”

The Christian life is not about being perfect. It is about receiving God’s love, allowing that love to change us, and producing fruit.
