On this Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are invited once again to contemplate a Heart that is open, wounded, and burning with love. In his message for this year, our General Superior, Fr. Carlos Luis Suárez Codorniú, SCJ, reminds us that this Heart is not closed in on itself, but turned toward the wounds of humanity. It is the Heart of Christ who sees, feels compassion, and responds.
In the Eucharist, Christ feeds us and sends us to feed others. Corpus Christi reminds us that what we celebrate at the altar must be lived on the streets—bringing hope, mercy, and healing to the world.
The Trinity is not a distant mystery but a living relationship of love. The Father eternally loves the Son, the Son loves the Father, and the Holy Spirit is the bond of that love. We are made in this image of love—called to live in unity, to forgive, to care, and to grow in holiness.
From June 9 to 13, 2025, the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ) of the Philippine Region participated in a Basic Orientation Workshop on Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults at the Sacred Heart Spirituality Center in Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. The seminar was conducted by the Catholic Safeguarding Institute, led by Msgr. Ramon Masculino, Jr., and emphasized the Church’s pastoral and moral responsibility to protect the most vulnerable members of society.
To be a Pentecost People means to live each day in the power of the Holy Spirit — not in fear, but in faith; not in selfishness, but in self-giving love. The Spirit transforms us from within and equips us to face the challenges of the world with hope, courage, and joy. Pentecost is not just a feast of the past, but an invitation to a new way of life, here and now.
