Ordination Anniversary and Installation of New Superior

DSC02442The three day activities of the SCJ Philippine Region started  in the morning on June 27, 2016,with the meeting of the Region, and was followed by celebration of the 25th Ordination Anniversary of Fr. Indra Pamungkas, SCJ and Installation of Fr. Yohanes Sono Pribadi, SCJ as New Superior of the Novitiate Community in the afternoon. The celebration was held in the Novitiate Fr. Dehon in Lower Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

After the homily, delivered by Fr. Yohanes, Fr. Francis Pupkowski, SCJ, the Regional superior, accepted his “Profession of Faith.” The concelebrated Mass was presided by Fr. Indra.

Fr. Yohanes Sono Pribadi, SCJ, belongs to the first group of missionaries that arrived 27 years ago in the Philippines. Among his different assignments were: Assistant and later Parish Priest in Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur, Vocation Director, Assistant Parish Priest in Bacolod, Lanao del Norte and Parish Priest in Kumalarang. In 2004, Fr. Yohanes returned to his mother province in Indonesia where he spent 10 years working as a Vocation Director and doing pastoral work. In 2014, he rejoined the Philippine Mission and was assigned in the Novitiate Community where he assists Fr. Indra, the Novice Master and takes care of the property.

Fr. Indra Pamungkas, SCJ, has been present in the Philippines for the last 23 years. Besides his pastoral assignments in Margosatubig and Bacolod, most of the time he spent working in the formation and being a Vocation Director. In 2015, he was assigned as a Novice Master.

Fr. Laurentius Suwanto, SCJ

On August 16, 2013, Fr. Laurentius Suwanto, the Novice Master, was installed as a new superior of the Novitiate Community. He replaced Fr. Indra Pamungkas who got his assignment as a Vocation Promotion Director in Manila. As of now, the Novitiate Community is composed of three religious and five novices.

The ceremony of installation took place during the Holy Eucharist presided by the Regional Superior Fr. Francis  Pupkowski, scj. In his homily, Fr. Francis thanked Fr. Indra for six years of service to the community, his dedication and availability and wished Fr. Suwanto to be a “Good Shepherd” in attending the needs of the whole community and of each member. After the homily Fr. Donald Longno,  read the letter of appointment of a new superior, which was followed by the “Profession of Faith” recited by the new superior.

The celebration was concluded with a simple supper, which was attended by fellow SCJs, religious sisters from various congregations and friends of the congregation.

Novitiate Fr. Dehon – First Profession of Vows

Sunday, May 13, 2012, was a special day for the newly created Philippine Region. On this day three Novices: Bro. Nathaniel Robilla, Bro. Rogereve Pausanos and Bro. Junlou Arcayos professed their first vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and in this way became members of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart.

The ceremony of first profession took place during the Holy Eucharist celebrated at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon in Lower Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. The vows were accepted by the Regional Superior Fr. Franciszek Pupkowski, SCJ.

The celebration was attended by SCJs from different communities, the assistant parish priest from Dimataling, religious sisters, members of the families of the newly professed confreres and friends.

We entrust these new members of the Philippine Region to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and support them with our prayers.

Perpetual Profession of Vows

IMG_5148-30On April 16, 2012 – an SCJ on temporary vows Bro. Patrick L. Gutib, made his final commitment to God and to the Congregation. The ceremony of Perpetual Profession took place at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon, Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The vows were accepted by the Regional Superior Fr. Franciszek Pupkowski, SCJ who was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist.

The celebration was attended by SCJs from different communities, religious sisters, members of family of Bro. Patrick and friends.

Final Vows of Bro. Lourdiso Panhay

Philippine-Final-Vows-420x298On April 25, 2011 – an SCJ on temporary vows Bro. Lourdiso Z. Panhay made his final commitment to God and to the Congregation. The ceremony of Perpetual Profession took place at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon, Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The vows were accepted by the District Superior Fr. Jose Benedito de Moraes Machado who was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist.

Also, during the same time Bro. Nathaniel Robilla was admitted to the Novitiate.

Among those who attended this celebration was Fr. Bernard Rosinski from the US Province and Fr. Martin Van Ooij from the District of India.
