Acceptance of New Novices

On May 13, 2018, on the Feast of Ascension and Our Lady of Fatima, nine young men (three Filipino and six Vietnamese) were officially accepted to the Novitiate. In this way, they started their direct preparation for the first profession of vows that will be held on June 28, 2019. During this thirteen month journey,under the supervision of the Novice Master Fr. Indra Pamungkas, SCJ, they will learn many things about the nature of religious and community life, the Founder, the Congregation and most of all about the vows they will be going to profess.

The ceremony of acceptance was held in the afternoon in the the Novitiate Fr. Dehon in Lower Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zambonga del Sur. The new novices were accepted by the Superior of the SCJ Philippine Region, Fr. Lukas Hadi Siswo Sasmito, SCJ. The ceremony was attended by the members of the neighbour community in Dumalinao, Fr. Tom Cassidy from the US Province, Fr. Patro Gier working in Finland and Fr. Khoa Nguyen, the formator of Aspirants in Cagayan de Oro.

Renewal of Vows in Cagayan de Oro

On May 10, 2018, two scholastics: Fra. Victor Lingasa and Fra. Julius Socorro, have renewed their religious vows of chastity, poverty and obedience in the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. The vows were accepted by Fr. Rico O. Lapinig, SCJ, the first councilor of the Philippine Region. The ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Cagayan de Oro City and was attended by the SCJs from neighbor communities, family members and friends.

At the moment both of them are on their community exposure: Fra. Victor in Talisay, Hilongos and Fra. Julius in Immaculate Concepcion Parish in Aluba, Cagayan de Oro.

Perpetual Profession and Renewal of Vows

On May 13, 2017, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, Bro. Rogereve Pausanos (SCJ) professed his final vows of Chastity, Obedience and Poverty in the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. The celebration was held in the Chapel at the Dehon House in Quezon City, and was presided by the superior of the Philippine Region, Fr. Francis Pupkowski, SCJ, who accepted his vows.

During the same celebration six Filipino and two Vietnamese brothers renewed their temporary vows. The vows of the Filipino SCJs were accepted by Fr. Francis Pupkowski, SCJ, and of the Vietnamese by Fr. Delio Ruiz, SCJ, the superior of the local community.

The celebration was attended by the SCJs from the Metro Manila area, some religious sisters, family members, relatives of the professed and friends.

We entrust Bro. Rogereve Pausanaos and all the brothers who renewed their vows to your prayers. The world needs committed religious and priests who will continue the mission of the Church and of the Congregation.

Perpetual Profession of Vows of Fra. Nathaniel

On May 7, 2016, Fra. Nathaniel D. Robilla, SCJ, member of the Philippine Region, made his perpetual profession of vows. The vows were accepted by Very Rev. Fr. Oliviero Cattani, SCJ, the Provincial Superior of the Northern Italian Province (ITS). The ceremony was attended by many confreres from the ITS Province and members of Roma I community and of the General Administration. “There were a lot of people, and a group of 40 Filipino singing during the holy Mass: a very nice experience for all of us! (Fr. Enzo Brena, SCJ). As we congratulate Fra. Nathaniel, we continue to support his with our prayers.

Perpetual Profession of Vows

IMG_5148-30On April 16, 2012 – an SCJ on temporary vows Bro. Patrick L. Gutib, made his final commitment to God and to the Congregation. The ceremony of Perpetual Profession took place at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon, Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The vows were accepted by the Regional Superior Fr. Franciszek Pupkowski, SCJ who was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist.

The celebration was attended by SCJs from different communities, religious sisters, members of family of Bro. Patrick and friends.
