In today’s Gospel, we see Joseph once again listening to the voice of God in a dream: “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt.” This command, urgent and unsettling, changes the course of the Holy Family’s life. They become refugees, seeking safety in a foreign land. Yet, through Joseph’s prompt obedience and Mary’s silent trust, the will of God unfolds even amid danger and uncertainty.
The Gospel for the Fourth Sunday of Advent centers on Joseph, the quiet and obedient man whom God chose to play a vital role in the mystery of salvation. While other Advent readings focus on Mary’s “yes” to God, today we are invited to contemplate the silent “yes” of Joseph — a “yes” that required deep faith, courage, and humility.
On March 19, 2025, the Kasanag Daughters Foundation, Inc. (KDFI) joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph, one of the foundation’s patron saints. This annual tradition is a moment of grace for the community, bringing together the beneficiaries, staff, and supporters in a spirit of thanksgiving and renewal.
March 19 is a special day for the Kasanag Daughters Foundation Inc. (KDFI) as it marks the Solemnity of St. Joseph, the foundation’s patron saint. St. Joseph is known as the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the guardian and protector of the Holy Family, and the patron saint of workers and fathers. On December 8, 2020, the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, Pope Francis issued an Apostolic Letter entitled Patris corde (“With a Father’s Heart”).
