Vocation Festival Series, Season 2: Listening to God’s Call

The Vocation Festival Series, Season 2 opened its first episode on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Cagayan de Oro City. It is a continuation of the Vocation Festival activities that began earlier this year, as part of the ongoing effort of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ) to accompany young people in their journey of faith and discernment. The gathering brought together 32 participants from various parishes of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, as well as from Bacolod in Lanao del Norte.

The festival aims to help young people recognize and respond to their personal call from God — whether to married life, priesthood, or consecrated life. Rooted in prayer, reflection, and community, the event creates a space where participants can discern how God continues to invite them to live a life of love, service, and commitment.

The first day of the festival was filled with orientation sessions, personal testimonies, team-building games, and cultural presentations. These activities fostered friendship, faith, and openness among the participants, helping them experience the beauty of a community united by a common desire to seek God’s will. The joyful and fraternal atmosphere reflected the compassionate spirit of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The second day, which will be Episode 2 of the Vocation Festival, will center on personal talks and interviews with those discerning a possible vocation to the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It will be a day of deeper reflection, guidance, and prayer, allowing participants to listen attentively to how God may be calling them to dedicate their lives in love and service, especially to the poor and the marginalized.

This seminar is intended for Grade 10 and Grade 12 students, college students, and young professionals who are aspiring to become priests or brothers, and who feel called to a personal response of love and reparation through an active concern for the poor and marginalized.

The Vocation Festival Series remains an inspiring program that promotes not only religious vocations but also a broader awareness of God’s call to every Christian. Each vocation — whether in marriage, priesthood, or consecrated life — is a unique response of love to the God who first loved us (cf. 1 John 4:19).

May this second season of the Vocation Festival bear abundant fruit in the hearts of all participants, inspiring them to say with courage and joy: “Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.”
