Sacred Heart Formation House, Cagayan de Oro City, 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

How often do we tell ourselves, “I don’t have enough”—enough time, strength, patience, faith, or ability?

The disciples felt the same. Looking at thousands of hungry people, they said, “We have only five loaves and two fish.” Jesus answered with five life-changing words:

“Bring them here to me.” (Mt 14:18)

This is the invitation Christ gives each of us today.

Bring Him your gifts.
Bring Him your weaknesses.
Bring Him your hopes and fears.
Bring Him your little.

God does not begin with what we lack. He begins with what we are willing to place in His hands. What remains in our hands stays limited; what is entrusted to Christ becomes a blessing for many.

The world tells us to hold tightly to what we have. Jesus invites us to trust His abundance. He alone is the Bread that truly satisfies every hunger of the human heart.

As you come to the Eucharist this Sunday, bring your whole life to Him. You may discover that what seemed “not enough” becomes more than enough through His grace.

“Everyone ate and was satisfied.” (Mt 14:20)
