Sacred Heart Formation House, Cagayan de Oro City, Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Faith is a journey, and we are all called to be pilgrims and sowers of hope. Consecrated life is a radical witness to this path, embracing detachment and trust in God. We fulfill our mission by being signs of God’s presence, embracing the cross, sharing the Gospel joyfully, serving the poor, and fostering unity. With Christ as our companion, we walk in faith and love.

In the Gospel today, Jesus reveals the beginning of His mission. He proclaims hope and salvation, fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy. Jesus brings healing, freedom, and good news to the poor and oppressed.

In the Year of Hope, we are called to continue His mission. Hope is active trust in God and sharing His love with others. We can share hope by: Encouraging and uplifting those in despair. Living the Gospel through service and action. And Trusting in God through prayer and faith.

Hope is here and now because Christ is with us. Let us be messengers of hope to a world in need.

The life of Jesus in this world, from his young age until his death on the cross shows His commitment to fulfil the will of the Father. On the feast of St Nino, let us go beyond the celebration, tradition/rituals. May our devotions empower us as Christians to fulfill the will of the Father, in using our voice in electing our good leaders, in taking care of children/youth and serving the poor.

The Visitation is a powerful reminder of how faith leads to mission. Mary, carrying Jesus, journeys to serve Elizabeth, and their encounter overflows with joy and gratitude. This story invites us to prepare our hearts for Christ’s coming by sharing His love with others. May we follow Mary’s example of faith-filled service and joyful witness.
