The Regional Celebration of the 100th Death Anniversary of the Servant of God, Fr. Leo John Dehon, SCJ, founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, was joyfully held on August 26, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Cagayan de Oro City. The day was filled with prayer, reflection, fraternity, and thanksgiving—a fitting tribute to a man whose life and mission continue to inspire the Dehonian Family around the world.
The celebration of the 100th death anniversary of Fr. Leo John Dehon at the Sacred Heart Formation House in Aluba began on the weekend of August 9–10, 2025 with friendly sports activities, including volleyball, basketball, and soccer. These were followed by indoor games such as chess, scrabble, and other activities that encouraged fellowship and joy among participants.
On August 2, 2025, the Lay Dehonians from the Zamboanga Peninsula gathered at the Fr. Dehon Novitiate for a special formation day focused on the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the beginnings of the SCJ mission in the Philippines, and the inspiring life of Venerable Fr. Leo John Dehon.
On April 1, 2024, we gather once again to commemorate the life and legacy of Fr. Joseph C. Butlig, SCJ, on the occasion of his second death anniversary. It has been two years since we bid farewell to a man whose presence radiated faith, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Continue reading
