On March 19, 2025, the Kasanag Daughters Foundation, Inc. (KDFI) joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph, one of the foundation’s patron saints. This annual tradition is a moment of grace for the community, bringing together the beneficiaries, staff, and supporters in a spirit of thanksgiving and renewal.
Life is a journey between mountain and valley. Like the disciples at the Transfiguration, we experience moments of clarity and joy, but we must return to daily life where faith is tested. The mountain strengthens us, but our mission is in the valley. Lent is a time to listen to Christ, preparing us for transformation. True faith is lived out in both prayer and action.
The forty days of Lent remind us of Jesus’ forty days in the desert, facing temptation. He teaches us to resist the urge to seek comfort in material things, to reject the desire for power, and to trust in God rather than testing Him. Just as Jesus found strength in Scripture, we, too, must turn to God’s word to overcome our struggles. Lent is a time of fasting, prayer, and repentance, helping us detach from sin and grow in faith. When we choose God over temptation, we choose true life.
Our words reflect the very essence of who we are, exposing both our virtues and our vulnerabilities. When we choose to speak with kindness and truth, we not only uplift those around us but also nurture our own inner life. Our language can either serve as a mirror showing the beauty within or as a mask that hides our true self. Therefore, it is vital to cultivate a habit of thoughtful speech that promotes healing and understanding.
Loving our enemies is difficult, but it is the way of Christ. David’s restraint, Jesus’ radical teaching, and Paul’s vision of transformation all challenge us to feed love, trust God, and reflect His mercy in our lives.
