August 12, 2017 – More than 40 members of the “Apostleship of Prayer” from the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, members of Lay Dehonians and Dehonian Youth, Staff from Kasanag Daughters Foundation (KDF), TMM Sisters, SCJ seminarians and friends of the Congregation, attended the celebration of 92nd Death Anniversary of Fr. Leo John Dehon and Thanksgiving Mass of Fr. Dennis Macasero, SCJ.
The celebration was held at the Sacred Heart Formation House Chapel in Cagayan de Oro City. The main celebrant was Fr. Dennis Macasero, SCJ, assisted by Dn. Nathaniel Robilla, SCJ and members of the Aluba I Community and Dansolihon Chaplaincy.

After, the post communion prayer there was a video presentation for all those who attended the celebration to give them an idea about the Vision and Mission of the SCJ Philippine Region that lasted for 25 minutes. The celebration ended with simple dinner as an expression of thanksgiving for all those who participated the activity.

On June 29, 2017, on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles, Dn. Dennis Macasero, SCJ, was ordained priest. The ceremony of ordination took place at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Buug, Zamboanga Sibuguey, his parish of origin and was presided by the Bishop of Ipil, Most Reverend Julius S. Tonel, D.D.
On June 28, 2017, five (5) SCJNovices, three (3) Filipino: Rey Rhet E. Maglinte, Ferdinand T. Quintos, Sylvester Martin A. Santos , and two (2) Vietnamese: Long Doan Quang Hoang and Van Nam Nguyen , professed their first vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
On June 27, 2017, two (2) members of the Philippine Region on final vows: Bro. Nathaniel D. Robilla, SCJ, and Bro. Rogereve U. Pausanos, SCJ, were ordained deacons.
It is already a tradition that on the Sunday after the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus the formation community of Cagayan de Oro celebrates Benefactors’ Day. It is the way to let the benefactors know more about the congregation and its activities and also an opportunity to thank them for their support and generosity.
