Four SCJs Ordained to the Diaconate!

On February 20, 2024, the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ) celebrated the joyful ordination of four new deacons: Br. Giovanni Bautista, Br. Carl Ryan Opeña, Br. Rackie Roxas, and Br. July Zambrano. The ceremony, held at the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, at 2:30 PM, was presided over by His Excellency, Archbishop Jose A. Cabantan, D.D., of Cagayan de Oro. He was joined by Archbishop Emeritus Most Rev. Antonio J. Ledesma, SJ. D.D., whose esteemed presence added further significance to the occasion.

Ordination of Two Brothers to the Priesthood and Diaconate

On March 02, 2021,  was the ordination of two brothers: Deacon Julius Della Peña Socorro, SCJ was ordained, priest and Bro. Reneboy Della Peña Socorro, SCJ was ordained deacon. The ceremony of ordination took place at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Bayugan, Agusan del Norte, their parish of origin, and was presided by the Bishop of Butuan Diocese, Most Rev. Ordination to the Diaconate in Dumalinao

On October 16, 2019, two members of the SCJ Philippines Region on final vows: Bro. Victor M. Lingasa, SCJ, and Bro. Julius D. Socorro, SCJ were ordained deacons.

The two SCJs were ordained by the Bishop of Pagadian Diocese, Most Rev. Ronald I. Lunas, D.D., at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Dn. Victor comes from Pitogo, Diocese of Pagadian, while Dn. Julius from Bayugan, Diocese of Butuan.The new deacons are assigned, respectively, at the Holy Cross Parish (Parokya ng Banal na Krus) in Tandang Kutyo, Tanay, Rizal, Diocese of Antipolo, and San Roque Parish in Bagong Silang, Diocese of Novaliches.

The ordination was held a day after the SCJ meeting on October 15, 2019, at the Novitiate Fr. Dehon in Lower Locuban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur and was attended by almost all members of the Philippines Region, priests and religious from the Diocese of Pagadian, family members and friends of the two new deacons.

The ceremony of ordination started at 9:00 am and ended with a lunch at 11:00 am.

Ordination to the Diaconate 2018

On June 29, 2018, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, two (2) members of the SCJ Philippine Region: Bro. Ruel Paalisbo, SCJ, and Bro. Joel Bolo, SCJ, who a day before made their perpetual profession of vows, were ordained deacons.

They were ordained by the Bishop of Pagadian Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Cabajar DD, CSsR, at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Deacon Ruel comes from Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, Diocese of Iligan, while Deacon Joel from Ugyaban, Chaplaincy of Dansolihon, Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro. Both places were marked with the SCJ presence and the two new deacons are the fruits of it.

The new deacons are assigned, respectively, at Immaculate Conception Parish in Aluba, Cagayan de Oro City and San Isidro Labrador Parish in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Ordination to the Diaconate

On June 27, 2017, two (2) members of the Philippine Region on final vows: Bro. Nathaniel D. Robilla, SCJ, and Bro. Rogereve U. Pausanos, SCJ, were ordained deacons.

The two SCJs were ordained by the Bishop of Pagadian Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Cabajar DD, CSsR, at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Dn. Nathaniel comes from the Diocese of Tagum, while Dn. Rogereve from Balongating, a sub-parish of Dumalinao. The new deacons are assigned, respectively, at Immaculate Conception Parish in Aluba, Cagayan de Oro City and San Isidro Labrador Parish in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.
