“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
When we look at great churches like the St. Peter’s Basilica, we see beauty and strength. But they are built from many small stones.
Each stone has its place. Each stone matters.
So it is with us.
We are “living stones” in God’s Church.
When we look at great churches like the St. Peter’s Basilica, we see beauty and strength. But they are built from many small stones.
Each stone has its place. Each stone matters.
So it is with us.
We are “living stones” in God’s Church.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus Christ says:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled… I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
This reminds us:
Christ is our foundation. Without Him, our lives cannot stand firm.
Saint Peter tells us that we are chosen and being built by God. Even our struggles are part of His work in shaping us.
In the early Church (Acts 6), we see that everyone has a role to serve. No service is small. When each person does their part, the Church grows.
From among these “living stones,” God also calls some to a special mission:
the priesthood and religious life—a life of service, sacrifice, and total dedication to God.
So we ask:
- Is Christ truly the foundation of my life?
- Am I living my mission?
- Could God be calling me, or someone I know, to a deeper vocation?
Let us remember:
We are chosen, shaped, and sent by God.
Lord, build Your Church with our lives.
Amen.
