The season of Advent is a time of preparation, hope, and vigilance, inviting us to reflect on Christ’s first coming and His promised return. Today’s Gospel emphasizes the importance of staying awake and spiritually alert amidst the challenges of life, such as distractions, indulgence, and anxieties. Jesus calls us to trust in God’s providence and remain steadfast in prayer, recognizing signs of hope even in turmoil. Advent is also a call to charity and repentance, urging us to prepare our hearts through acts of love and reconciliation, as we await the fulfillment of God’s promise in Christ’s glorious return.
