Today, on May 31, 2020, the Solemnity of the Pentecost and the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one (1) SCJ Novice from the Philippines, Kevin Barranco, together with seven (7) SCJ Novices from Vietnam made their commitment to God in the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. By the profession of three vows: Chastity, Poverty and Obedience, they declared their readiness and will to follow Jesus more closely. They were preparing for this moment for a little bit more than one year under the guidance of Fr. Indra Pamungkas, SCJ, the Novice Master, Fr. Yohanes Sono Pribadi, SCJ, the “Socius”, and Fr. On 15th December 2010, unforgettable day for the Philippine District. Bro. Showe Reddy Nekkanti SCJ, was ordained as a deacon by the Bishop of Pagadian Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel T. Cabajar, CSsR, D.D. the Eucharistic celebration started at 10am with the procession.Fr. Lukas (parish priest), and Fr. Aloisio Back (novice master) were the main concelebrants with the Bishop. There were around 25 priests, many religious sisters, seminarians, and hundreds of people witnessed in this auspicious event. The involvement of sacristan, catechists, Eucharistic minister, altar boys and girls were very much appreciated by all. During the celebration bishop gave a meaningful homily stating the fundamental duties of deacon and invited Br. Showe to do the same. After the homily the bishop laid his hand on him to bring the order of deacon. There was a beautiful choir singing the glory of God, under the leadership of Bro. Sismadi, including novices and parish choir members. Bro. deacon Showe gave thanks to all in Bisaya and Fr. Lukas also thanked for everyone who came for the celebration. Followed by the celebration, there was an Agape in the parish hall. The celebration ended at 1pm.
On December 31, 2007, Fr. Aloisio Back, the Novice Master, celebrated his 25th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood.
The Anniversary was marked by a special concelebrated Mass held at the Fr. Dehon Novitiate in Lucoban, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. During his homily Fr. Aloisio recalled his way to the priesthood and thanked to God for all the graces he received during these past 25 years of which 16 he spent in the Philippines.
In the name of the District Fr. Janusz Burzawa, the first councilor, thanked to Fr. Aloisio for the work he is doing and for his dedication to the Church, the Congregation and the District.
The celebration was attended by representatives of all SCJ communities and by some friends.
