On August 2, 2025, the Lay Dehonians from the Zamboanga Peninsula gathered at the Fr. Dehon Novitiate for a special formation day focused on the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the beginnings of the SCJ mission in the Philippines, and the inspiring life of Venerable Fr. Leo John Dehon.
On June 27, 2025, the Cagayan de Oro Formation Community of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJ) joyfully celebrated their patronal feast, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This day is very important for the Dehonian Family, as it is a time of spiritual renewal, thanksgiving, and coming together as a community centered on the merciful love of Jesus Christ.
In this Sunday’s Gospel we reflect on Jesus’ farewell discourse, where He promises His enduring presence through the Holy Spirit and offers the priceless gift of peace. Jesus assures us that those who love Him and keep His word will receive the indwelling presence of the Father and the Son. From May 1-4, 2025, the Sacred Heart Formation House in Aluba, Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City, hosted a Media Assembly themed “A Heart for the World: Pilgrims of Hope. Living Fr. Dehon’s Legacy in the Age of Innovation.” Over 70 participants from various SCJ parishes and apostolates, accompanied by their assistant parish priests, gathered to explore the intersection of faith and modern communication.
